Job Description

TITLE: SCHOOL NUTRITION WORKER
 
PRIMARY FUNCTION:
Assist the food service manager in preparing quality, nutritious meals in an atmosphere which will be appealing to students and staff.
 
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must be able to follow written and verbal instruction.
  • Must be able to work well with other people.
  • Must enjoy working with students K-12.
  • Must be physically fit and emotionally stable to carry out performance responsibilities and show evidence of a negative tuberculosis test or x-ray.

 
REPORTS TO:
School Nutrition Manager
 
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Prepare and serve meals using proper portion control and efficient approved methods.
  2. Maintain sanitary, orderly work area.
  3. Maintain high standards of grooming and personal appearance.
  4. Participate in clean up after meal preparation.
  5. Accept and complete assignments in a positive manner.
  6. Develop knowledge, skills and abilities related to the position.
  7. Demonstrate ability to work under pressure.
  8. Demonstrate ability to adjust to changing situations.
  9. Support school division programs and philosophies.
  10. Present a positive, friendly appearance and attitude toward all students, school staff, and parents.
  11. Effectively operate computer equipment to ensure accuracy of all food service records.
  12. Perform any other specific and reasonable duties as shall be requested by appropriate supervisors.

 
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:
As per statement of employment for non-certificated personnel.
 
EVALUATION:
Performance will be evaluated in accordance with school board policy and regulations on evaluation of personnel.
